Plugged – Support

Transfer files between your Mac and Android / MTP devices over USB.

My phone doesn't show up

1. Use a data cable. Many cables sold for charging carry no data. If in doubt, try the cable that came with the phone.
2. Unlock the phone. Android hides storage while locked.
3. Switch the USB mode. Swipe down the notification shade, tap "Charging this device via USB" (sometimes "USB for…" or "USB preferences"), then choose File Transfer — also labelled "MTP" or "Transfer files". "Photo transfer / PTP" and "Charging only" won't work.
4. Quit apps that are using the phone. On macOS 26, Finder, Preview, Photos and Image Capture can all take hold of an Android phone (macOS treats it as a camera). Quit Preview, Photos and Image Capture and close any Finder window showing the phone; Plugged retries for about 30 seconds, after that click Try Again. Android File Transfer, OpenMTP, Samsung Smart Switch, phone-manager apps and virtual machines (Parallels, VMware, VirtualBox, UTM) can hold the phone too — quit them or release the device from the VM's USB menu. Plugged names the app it detects.
5. Try another USB port, ideally directly on the Mac rather than through a hub.

Plugged detects each of these situations and shows the matching steps on screen.

Transfers are slow

MTP speed is set by the phone. USB 2.0 devices manage about 20–40 MB/s; newer USB 3 phones are faster. Many small files are slower than one large file — zip them first if you can.

Ways to copy files

Drop files anywhere in the window to copy them into the current folder, onto a folder row to copy them into that folder, onto the path bar to copy into a parent folder, or onto the Plugged icon in the Dock. Hold over a folder for a second and it opens, like in Finder. Drag items from the window to Finder to copy them to your Mac. Dragging within the window moves items on the phone.

If a file with the same name already exists, Plugged asks whether to replace or skip it; folders with the same name are merged rather than overwritten.

A file failed to copy

Some folders on the phone (for example Android/data and Android/obb) are protected by the system and can't be read or written over USB. Files being written by an app on the phone may also be locked. Everything else should copy normally; if a specific file keeps failing, tell us the file type and phone model.

Supported devices

Any Android phone or tablet (Android 6 and later), and any device that speaks MTP: e-readers (Boox and others), handheld consoles (Anbernic and similar), DJI remote controllers, Nintendo Switch, cameras in MTP mode.

插线传 – 支持

用 USB 线在 Mac 和安卓 / MTP 设备之间传文件。

手机没显示出来

1. 用能传数据的线。很多充电线不带数据功能。拿不准就用手机原装线。
2. 解锁手机。锁屏状态下安卓不暴露存储。
3. 切换 USB 模式。下拉通知栏，点「正在通过 USB 充电此设备」（有的叫「USB 用途」或「USB 偏好设置」），选传输文件，也叫「MTP」或「文件传输」。「传输照片 / PTP」和「仅充电」都不行。
4. 退出正在用手机的应用。macOS 26 上访达、预览、照片、图像捕捉都会把安卓手机当相机接管：退出「预览」「照片」「图像捕捉」，关掉访达里显示这台手机的窗口，插线传会自动重试约 30 秒，之后点「重试」即可。Android File Transfer、OpenMTP、手机助手类软件，以及虚拟机（Parallels、VMware、VirtualBox、UTM）也会占住手机：退出它们，或在虚拟机的 USB 菜单里释放设备。插线传会指出检测到的是哪一个。
5. 换一个 USB 口，最好直接插 Mac 本体，不经过集线器。

以上每一种情况插线传都会识别出来，把对应的步骤显示在屏幕上。

传得慢

MTP 的速度由手机决定。USB 2.0 设备大约每秒 20–40 MB，较新的 USB 3 手机更快。很多小文件比一个大文件慢得多，能先打包就先打包。

拷文件的几种方式

把文件拖到窗口任意位置即拷到当前文件夹；拖到某个文件夹行上即拷进那个文件夹；拖到上方路径栏即拷到上级目录；也可以直接拖到程序坞里的插线传图标上。在文件夹上停留一秒会自动进入，和访达一样。把窗口里的项目拖到访达即拷到 Mac；在窗口内拖动则是在手机上移动。

目标位置已有同名文件时，插线传会询问替换还是跳过；同名文件夹会合并，不会整个覆盖。

某个文件拷不了

手机上有些目录（比如 Android/data 和 Android/obb）受系统保护，USB 读写不了。正在被手机上某个应用写入的文件也可能被锁住。其他文件都应正常；如果某个文件一直失败，把文件类型和手机型号告诉我们。

支持的设备

任何安卓手机和平板（Android 6 及以上），以及任何走 MTP 协议的设备：文石等电子书阅读器、Anbernic 等复古掌机、大疆遥控器、Switch、MTP 模式的相机。
